| Now this is the man that gave me alot the info I needed and the whole idea to market my LED kits. What things to do to make the Kits into something people expect and want. He's passed a lot of knowledge to me so I could understand the business side of RC but we both agreed no reason to try to get rich, so sell at prices that people will thank us for. Jamie is also the designer and manufacturer of Boomtownhobbies Skids and carbon fiber Tail Booms for the CX Heli's. He does an awesome job and keeps the prices way low. Jamie and myself now work together to market each others parts and deliver them to the RC pilots. Thanks for the tonnes of help Jamie. I owe you BIG!!! |
| About: KR's Hobbies Guess this is where I tell you about KR's Hobbies and about myself. Well business first: KR's Hobbies was started originally because I was limited on where I could fly my Blade CX and when. I started flying at my auto shop (day job but I love it) was the only place to fly around inside. Learned a lot dodging lifts and hanging hoses. Then I wanted more room so I would go outside but had to wait till it was calm winds. Then dusk came earlier and earlier. So I had to fly at night. Plus I noticed winds are calm much more often. I started flying using the 2 street lights in the parking lot. Lots of flight time but couldn't get aggressive cause I couldn't track orientation well. So I decided to design and build a LED night flight kit. Opened up a whole new world. Along with that I was always looking to make it look better and faster, thus the upgrades. Many hours of research, hours designing the led kits, a lot of help from my father and my roommates father for electronic expertise, and the help and business knowledge of Jamie, behold, KR's Hobbies home of the Xtreme LED Kits and the CX Xtreme. Our goal, bring you reliable, fun performance and cosmetic upgrades at the best of prices. We want all RC hobbyists to have the fun that we do, but not to pay what the other sites want you to. As for me, for a little background, I am a 26 yr old auto mechanic. Not married ( At least when this site was put up) just single. Just started playing with RC because I was new to the area, moved in June of '06 from north-eastern Iowa, grew up with RC, so it was something to do, and I enjoy it. In October '05 I purchased my first CX, best money I ever spent. Went from a hobby to an obsession. I gave you reasons for the business but there is also a personal one too, most important of all, my son. I want to make sure he has a father to be proud of and that I can give him a good life. My father worked hard to give me a decent life, now its my turn to give my son even more. He needs to know the skies the limit and that his father started shortly after he was born to make sure his life was what he deserves. And if he chooses, when he gets older I will leave this to him. | Dont Laugh at her fleet, she is in training. When she learns how to fly that as well as I can, then I will put her in front of a simulator and behind the controls of my park flyer so she can begin to learn the basics. I will turn her into at the very least a CX pilot. Now this girl has been a lot of help, runs some of my errands for me, helps keep things decent around my apartment (like I have time to clean right now,lol) as well as occasionally plays secretary and is the KR's Hobbies "Camera girl" A lot of the video and pics shown in my site of my helis, was shot be her. After her trial run with my DV Camcorder, I gave her that position,lol. She is such a sweety, nice to know good things in life do still come to those who have patience. Luv ya girl. |
